Lael Weinberger

Lael Weinberger is an attorney and legal scholar. He is a lawyer in the Washington, DC, office of Gibson Dunn and a non-resident fellow at Stanford Law School. Previously, Lael clerked for Justice Neil Gorsuch on the United States Supreme Court, Judge Frank Easterbrook on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and Chief Justice Daniel Eismann on the Idaho Supreme Court. Lael taught law and researched at Harvard Law School as a lecturer, as the Olin-Searle-Smith Fellow (2020-22), and as the Raoul Berger-Mark DeWolfe Howe Legal History Fellow (2019-20). Lael earned a law degree with high honors from the University of Chicago Law School. He also holds a PhD in history from the University of Chicago, with a focus on American legal history. Lael's academic articles and reviews appear in the University of Chicago Law Review, Notre Dame Law Review, and Constitutional Commentary, among others. His reviews and essays have appeared in publications including Newsweek, National Review, Claremont Review, First Things, Christianity Today, LA Review of Books, World, and the New Rambler Review.
